Supporting Healthcare Facilities and Anesthesiology Groups Nationwide.
1. Ensures regular meetings of the (RMD) including those individuals responsible for:• Overseas Operations• Medical Records & Scanning• Accounts Receivable• Charge Entry• Quality Control2. Facilitates communications and teamwork among various organizational functions in RMD including overseas functions3. Works with Overseas operations providing training, policies and procedures and support to ensure optional efficiency and cost containment initiatives for the RMD.4. Facilitate continual education and training for RMD involving:• Proper coding• Billing policies and procedures for all carriers in all states including government carriers• HIPAA• Compliance-Fraud and Abuse5. Provides reports indicating the key financial and productivity metrics including but not limited to:• Denial Reports• Actual Payments from 3rd Party Payers Compared vs. Contracted Rates• Net Collections• Gross Collections• Aging Accounts Receivable
6. Work with Finance Department to ascertain budgeted revenue on a monthly basis based on contracted rates and expected collection percentage.7. Establish benchmarks of productivity and effectiveness for all functions of the RMD (utilizing resources including but not limited to comparison with similar entities, MGMA, HFMA benchmarks). 8. Review audits of work performed by all functions of RMD nationally and overseas9. Present statistics of productivity and efficiency to Executive staff providing comparisons to benchmarks. 10. Oversee the appraisals, formal and informal, of all individuals in the RMD11. Oversee Medical Records including but not limited to:• Training and mentorship of Supervisor• Tracking and trending of productivity and quality• Scanning of all Anesthesia records from client sites, headquarters and satellite operations• Timely entry anesthesia records into scanning system from the date of service• Ensure all charts are reconciled with cases performed by end of month• Providing missing or illegible information to Overseas Operations for accurate charge entry
12. Oversee Charge Entry including but not limited to:• Training and mentorship of Supervisor• Tracking and trending of productivity and quality• Timely entry of charges between date of service and date of entry• Apportioning work volume between national and overseas operations
13. Oversee Accounts Receivable including but not limited to:• Training and mentorship of Supervisor• Tracking and trending of productivity and quality• Tracking of AR and collections tracking aberrations
14. Oversee Overseas RMD Operations including but not limited to:• Weekly meetings with management of Overseas operations• Annual visits to facility reviewing best practices for RMD• Optimization of utilization of overseas office• Ensuring responsiveness of US Operations to Overseas requests for information and direction
15. Oversee IT requirements for RMD including:• Optimization of the billing, scanning and other IT utilized within RMD• Ensure utilization of EDI (electronic transfer of claims) is optimized and all issues are logged, tracked and resolved• Ensure the electronic transfer of claims to all third party payers in all states are investigated and properly set up and operational• Ensure contracted rates of all third party payers and all products within third party payer contracts are entered into the system• Oversee the EFT with all third party payers in all states ensuring we are optimizing implementation of the electronic transfer claims
16. Oversee and direct managers at all satellite offices but not limited to:• RMD activities• Logistics (US)• RMD interactions• Expansion of personnel• Operational issues
17. Work with Project Manager to direct and manage Revenue Management and IT issues prior to commencement of anesthesia services18. Develop team building skills and programs recognizing and directing individuals including incentive plans, bonuses, goals and objectives19. Handle management reporting and presentations20. Work together with Managed Care Contracting to ensure revenue is collected from all third party payers in a timely manner in accordance with contracted rates and take action to resolve the issues21. Work together with Managed Care Contracting to distribute contracts negotiated and educate staff on applicable items of the contract affecting revenue management22. Work together with Managed Care Contracting to communicate credentialing of anesthetists with various third party payers with various Professional Corporations (P.C.’s)23. Report of department activity, accomplishments and initiatives at Management and Board Meetings24. Manage assigned projects or perform additional activities as may be required
This position will support the effective and efficient operations of the Revenue Management Department (RMD) and ensure continuous quality improvement efforts. This person would aid COO in the implementation and direction of IT nationally and internationally.
1. Audit Revenue Management ensuring all activities including collection of charts, coding, data entry, follow-up, collection and adjustments are performed with a 5% accuracy rate in a timely, thorough and efficient manner2. Ensure Aging Accounts Receivable beyond 120 days does not exceed MGMA benchmarks for Anesthesia Groups3. Ensure all changes are entered into the billing system within 2 weeks of the date of service4. Ensure all Anesthesia Records are collected within 5 days of date of service
1. 10 Years experience managing Revenue Management Department processing claims from multiple states2. Masters Degree required (MBA preferred)3. Experience with GE Centricity (previously IDX) preferred4. Experience with Anesthesia preferred5. Experience creating, implementing and maintaining Polices and Procedures for an organization or department with a minimum of 50 people6. Experience managing multiple office locations7. Experience managing international operations8. Excellent conflict management skills9. Advanced computer skills and experience including high level excel reporting, importing data from billing software into reports, understanding of operating systems and programming language such as SQL10. Strong leadership and communication skills
