Dr. Koch co-founded Somnia with Dr. Robert C. Goldstein in 1996. A licensed physician, Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine, Dr. Koch has authored more than a dozen articles and book chapters addressing the clinical and administrative aspects of office-based and ambulatory anesthesia. Considered an authority on both topics, he has been the subject of articles in The New York Times, Money magazine and Crain’s Health Pulse. He continues to address medical audiences at home and abroad. Dr. Koch is a former surveyor for the American Association of Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Dr. Koch earned his undergraduate and medical degrees with honors in pharmacology, genetics and surgery from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He served his residency at Yale following an internship at Winthrop University Hospital in New York. Additionally, he holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Fordham University School of Business.
