Dedicated Leadership

Strong leadership is vital for the success of any department, and Somnia demonstrates its commitment to leadership in every hospital partnership by first appointing a strong Chief of Anesthesia and an on-site Administrator dedicated to your facility. This on-site leadership team addresses day-to-day operational matters and attends all department hospital meetings. Our leadership involvement extends to every operational detail, including:

• Collaborating with the nursing staff to develop smooth and efficient patient education materials
• Streamlining preoperative questionnaires
• Establishing guidelines for preoperative testing
• Leading discussions about patient eligibility
• Creating an efficient check-in and registration process
• Formulating monitoring standards
• Establishing acute-pain protocols
• Overseeing anesthesia quality assurance, peer review and satisfaction programs.

Somnia’s Executive Management Team is also actively involved in supporting the on-site leadership team. The Chief of Anesthesia routinely reports to Somnia’s CMO and the on-site Administrator regularly reports to Somnia’s COO.  Regular meetings with hospital leadership to discuss quality management results are also common.

Our comprehensive team approach is designed to support a smooth transition, and includes both on- and off-site leadership:

• Chief of Anesthesia, skilled in handling both clinical and administrative issues;
• On-site Administrator, dedicated to handling operational issues;
• Chief Medical Officer, providing ongoing clinical and staffing support to the Chief of Anesthesia;
• VP of Client Development and an Account Manager, making periodic on-site visits to update key stakeholders on the progress of the team and address any concerns.
